Circularity in food systems: Finnish expertise in using biowaste as a resource for energy and recycled fertilisers
A sustainable food system includes how biowaste is collected and processed. Join us on a tour to a biogas plant and an eco-industrial centre to learn about Finnish expertise in biowaste management and nutrient recycling.
Time: Friday 2 June 2023 at 8:30–14:30 EEST (UTC+3)
Place: Departure from Helsinki city centre (exact location will be sent to participants later)
Households generate biowaste every day. When sorted correctly, it can be used in energy production, as soil conditioner and even as recycled nutrients. Come and join us for a tour to a biogas plant in Lohja (Gasum) and the eco-industrial centre in Ämmässuo (HSY) to take a closer look at Finnish circular economy expertise in biogas production and nutrient recycling! The tour includes a seminar in Lohja about nutrient balance maps and their relevance in the circular economy, while having coffee and snacks.
This session is for anyone interested in biowaste, biogas, nutrient recycling and the circular economy.
Organisers: FinBaltRecycling and the Finnish Biocycle and Biogas Association
