Rethinking and re-designing products and services for the circular economy

What is the benefit of having repairable products if they never actually get repaired?

Time: Thursday 1 June at 14:00–16:00 EEST (UTC+3)
Place: Online

Successfully redesigning and delivering products and services to move away from the linear economy and toward a circular economy requires businesses to connect the production and use cycles of products intentionally and strategically. The material selection, resource use and energy input in design and manufacturing stages is only half of the equation. How, where and by whom the product or service will be used, extended, reused, repaired and disassembled or recycled is often locked-in at the early design stages, also locking in the environmental impact of that product and its potential to become part of a circular solution.

Connecting the production and use cycles through life cycle thinking is a strategic approach to designing products and services that are circular, competitive in their market, part of a resilient service ecosystem and desirable to customers. This session will step-through this approach in a hands-on manner, including real-world case studies from across industries.
